This June, the Pre-College Anthropology Dialogues (PCAD) will convene its first online consultation, bringing together a select group of pre-college scholars to help shape the future of anthropology.


This June, the Pre-College Anthropology Dialogues (PCAD) will convene its first online consultation, bringing together a select group of pre-college scholars to help shape the future of anthropology.

For too long, talented young anthropologists have had few clear pathways into the professional community. We believe that needs to change.


In late June 2026, selected delegates will join a 2-hour online consultation designed to surface:

  • Opportunities for stronger engagement with the field

  • Barriers facing pre-college anthropologists

  • Practical recommendations for educators, mentors, institutions, and professional associations

  • New possibilities for student leadership and long-term collaboration


Why This Matters


The outcomes of this consultation will be documented and shared publicly to help influence broader conversations about the future of anthropology—including potentially through PCAD’s proposed workshop at the American Anthropological Association Annual Meeting in St. Louis this November (proposal currently under review).
